Eating out on Whole30 can be a little intimidating and downright scary! I mean, how can you REALLY know what’s going into your food. I remember my first Whole30 I was terrified to eat out, scared I’d eat the wrong thing and screw up my results and have to start all over. So I basically never ate out. Not once. I just didn’t know exactly what to do and where to go. That is, until I realized that a couple of my favorite staples, even well before I started Whole 30 were actually compliant and totally reliable options.

My first go to on Whole 30 is In-N-Out. If you don’t have one of these near you, I am SO sorry. But chances are, you can find a burger place that will make you a clean burger, similar to what I like to enjoy at In-N-Out. So what do I order? Two hamburgers, protein style, no spread just mustard, tomatoes, and grilled onions. I know what you’re probably thinking, why don’t you just order a double double instead of two singles? It’s simple! I get TWICE the veggies! And since I’m skipping out on my favorite pink lemonade and fries, I need all the extra clean calories I can get. So there you go, that’s what you get at In-N-Out.
Another eating out staple when I’m on Whole 30 is Chipotle. Now this is my FAVORITE place to go on Whole 30. It’s the most satisfying fast food I’ve found. And here’s what I order: A salad (hold the rice and beans – I get them on the side and give them to my toddlers to enjoy), carnitas (so happy it’s back!!!), mild sauce, medium sauce, and LOTS of guacamole. But don’t ask for lots because they already give you lots and then you’d just be swimming in guacamole! Like I said, this meal is so satisfying and you won’t even miss all the other stuff that you normally put on it. Chipotle hooks it up every time!
So here’s my last eating out tip. This one has saved me a couple times mostly out of convenience because there is one literally a couple blocks from my house. I’m talking about El Pollo Loco. I know, aren’t you shocked? I was so excited when I found out that their grilled chicken is 100% Whole 30 compliant. Thank you you crazy chicken you! And while I’m there I get them to throw in a side of steamed broccoli. When you’re out and just don’t have time to make something, this can be a real lifesaver.
So just to recap, my favorite fast food on Whole30 is In-N-Out, Chipotle, and El Pollo Loco. Anyone else have any favorite places to eat out on Whole 30? I’m sure there are lots more. These are just my go-tos because of convenience and location to my home. I’d love to hear your favorites.
