How do you know your Mother-in-law truly trusts you? She lets you choose the paint color for her guest bathroom WHILE SHE’S ON VACATION! I’ll admit, I was a little scared, but once we got going and tried a few swatches on the wall, there was no doubt in my mind that she was going to love it!
I went with my favorite paint, Benjamin Moore and knew right of the bat we needed something to play off the beautiful carrara slab on the Pottery Barn vanity.
After a couple misses, we finally tried Stonington Gray and the painter and I immediately fell in love with it’s cool tones. However, it was a bit dark for this small windowless space, so we opted for cutting it by 50%.
This is such a brilliant option when you find just the right color, but not the right strength.
By cutting in half we were able to still have the same color, but in a slightly lighter way.
I love how everything works together in this space. And I am happy to report that she returned home from her vacation to see the completed bathroom and instantly fell in love with the bathroom wall color too! What do you think? Would you trust a designer to pick a paint for you, sight unseen?
